I played the course with a tee time booked from an external site.

The course was in very good shape. Although the greens weren't quick, they rolled true.

We played on a Sunday at mid morning and our round was about 5 hours. I would expect this to be fairly normal.

The GPS carts were useful - two minor gripes though. No sand mix bottle to refill divots [important on a course with water features where divots frequently end up in the water] and a fixed windshield on the cart.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area

The fairways and greens were soft because of extra water needed due to the heat but the conditions were great anyway. The pace of play for a tuesday was way too slow. It took 5 1/2 hours to play and we waited on every tee box but that is my only complaint. The scenery and course are really the best in the area and the layout is a challenge in some spots and easy in others. It's really a nice blend of holes for any level of golfer. The staff is friendly and professional and I would recommend this course to all. Vacation worthy? Well if you happen to be in Fairfield for a vacation then yes, but is Fairfield a vacation spot? I had a great time with 3 people I just met on that day. I will play again in the future I'm sure.

Rancho Solano - is one of my favorite courses to play.

The Greens are monstrous in size and challenging. Course conditions are exellent and pace of play was 4.5 - 5 hrs. Carts are equipped with GPS course view (distance & hazards) and it spoils you.

Highly recommend playing, worth the drive from the Bay Area or Sacramento area.

Rancho Solano is one of my favorite courses. It is a beautiful course in beautiful surroundings. The view out over the willow trees and the lake from the number 5 tee box is one of the best. A very well drained course, it can be played just after a winter rain. Challenging, yet usually forgiving, Rancho Solano is a good test for all levels. Try the mushroom jack burger at the turn. It is also one of the best.

Lots of elevation changes but pretty wide open. Can be pretty slow in the peak hours on the weekend. The resident price helps make this a fair price. For as much play they get the course is in pretty good condition.
